VISION

 

At River Kids, we believe that every child is a precious image-bearer of God, created with purpose and destined to reflect His glory. Our mission is to guide children into a deep and meaningful relationship with Jesus, teaching them to hear God’s voice, live in His Kingdom, and walk in relationship with Him and others. We are committed to creating a playful and nurturing environment where children are discipled in the ways of the Kingdom, equipped to serve, and empowered to live out their God-given purpose.

We are passionate about creating a safe, playful, welcoming, and engaging space where children can grow in their faith and discover their unique identity in Christ. Our ministry is built on the foundation of nurturing each child's spiritual journey, helping them build strong relationships with Jesus and others.

SAFE AND SECURE ENVIRONMENT

The safety of your children is our top priority. We have a secure check-in system open for the first 45 minutes of each service, and parent tags are provided to ensure a safe and smooth check-in and out process. If you’re new or uncertain, our experienced children’s ministers would be happy to give you and your family a tour of River Kids Ministry. You’ll have the chance to see the classrooms, meet the teachers, and ask any questions you may have. Please contact our Family Ministry Pastor to schedule a tour.

AGE GROUPS

NURSERY AND PRESCHOOL

Our nursery and preschool classes are located on the south side of the fellowship hall, offering a safe and nurturing environment for our littlest members, from birth through 4 years old.

 

  • Babies (8 weeks – 2 years)
  • Our Babies area is a warm and caring environment where our youngest members are loved and nurtured.
  • Littles (2 years – 4 years)
  • The Littles group engages in fun, age-appropriate activities that introduce them to God's love through stories, songs, and play.

ELEMENTARY

Elementary classes are held downstairs in the Kids Blast room. Access this area by taking the white staircase. Here, children from Kindergarten through 5th grade engage in dynamic Bible teachings and activities that help them grow in their faith and relationship with Jesus.

 

  • Bigs (5 years – 11 years)
  • The Bigs group dives deeper into dynamic Bible teachings, interactive activities, and community-building that help them grow in their faith and understanding of Jesus.

SPECIAL NEEDS MINISTRY

At River Kids, we are committed to removing obstacles so that children of all abilities can fully encounter God’s presence and power. Our goal is to ensure that every child is included in the life of our ministry, not set apart. Children with special needs are paired with a trained buddy who walks alongside them, allowing them to participate with their peers in age-appropriate classrooms. Additionally, we offer a sensory-friendly room specifically designed for children who benefit from a calmer, more controlled environment.

 

Please note that the Buddy System is offered as volunteers and staff are available, so we appreciate your understanding as we work to match every child with a buddy. Additionally, we are excited to share that our sensory-friendly room is in development and will be available soon to provide a more tailored environment for children who benefit from a less-stimulating space.

WHAT IS A SENSORY ROOM?

Our special needs ministry is developing a space thoughtfully designed for children with unique sensory needs. Recognizing that traditional classroom settings can sometimes be overwhelming, we are creating a room where the environment is tailored to reduce sensory input, allowing children to engage at their own pace. This space includes sensory-friendly tools and other resources that help children feel at ease. This room will be available during services, and we encourage you to contact the Family Ministry Pastor for more information on how we as a church family can serve your child.

WHAT IS A BUDDY?

We believe that every child should feel seen, known, and loved when they come to River Kids. To support this, we pair each child with special needs with a dedicated buddy. These buddies build trusted relationships with the child and their family, ensuring the child can fully experience and participate in our classes and community. Our buddies are there to support, encourage, and help your child engage in a meaningful way with God’s love and the church community. If you think your child would benefit from having a buddy, please reach out so we can connect you with the right person.
