Christianity is more than just going to church on Sunday and waiting to die to go to heaven. God has abundant life for you on this earth. Check out our groups to see how you can go deeper with God.
You have been called to a purpose and we want to help you live out that purpose. You are a hell crushing prince or princess in the Kingdom of God meant to reap a harvest and not to just sow seeds. God wants to do amazing things in you and through you. Through Jack's ten years in the Marines, seminary training and Jack and Tammy's twelve years in the Philippines God has given them a heart to serve and train people just like you. Jesus died on the Cross so that you could live out the abundant life He has for you on the earth. We want to help you achieve those dreams and those goals, all to the glory of God.
If you're searching for a church that allows God to lead, we are the place for you. You will have an experience with God at The River and it will be unlike any church experience you've had.
Beyond allowing the Spirit to God to lead His church and putting Jesus front and center, our heart is that each and every person would be cared for and mentored in the church. If you are looking to go deeper in experiencing the presence of God in worship, hearing God's voice, understanding how to study the Bible yourself and how to minister in the power of the Spirit like Jesus did, this is the church for you.
Experiences with God are not just for the adults! We lay a firm foundation that will not fade for children and youth so that they grow up strong in their faith and do not fall away. We believe God has mighty plans for Columbine and the other schools in SW Denver. God is going to take the schools in the area, once known for terrible tragedy, and turn them upside down for a mighty outpouring of His Spirit.
Feel free to check out the About Us page to get your questions answered, or check out the FAQ below. Whether you've never been to church before, or grew up attending church weekly, plan your experience to join us this weekend!
We believe that God wants to do great things through you!

How is success defined in the church?
We have two measures of success at The River:
Was Jesus put on display?
Did the Holy Spirit lead?
Would you like to be part of a church that seeks to allow the Holy Spirit to lead?
At The River Church we see things a little different:
Worship is surrender.
Prayer starts with listening.
God still heals people today.
Jesus gave us a model of hands of discipleship (mentoring).
We are to seek and find God's heart.
We are to commit ourselves to Jesus and His Kingdom.
God is raising up a mighty army of love and worship; a people who will not take no for an answer, but believe with all their hearts and are all in. Are you called to be part of that army?
Worship goes far beyond singing songs. In the Bible worship means to bow down or surrender before God. In this place of surrender God meets people. We were created to be with God in this wonderful place of worship. At The River Church we seek God in worship for about 1/2 (45 minutes) of our time together. People say they can experience the presence of God in our services and that you can meet Jesus here.

Have questions? We have the answers!
Sunday morning services usually go for about an hour and a half. Jack will usually preach out of the Bible at the beginning for about 30 minutes, then we will worship and pray for an hour or so. That is the basic structure of the service, but as we seek to allow the Holy Spirit to lead the service, there's usually a few other things that come up. Sometimes people will share the amazing things God has been doing in their lives. Sometimes we will pray for people about specific things. Other times people are healed, set free from addiction or meet Jesus experientially for the first time. It is beautiful and just a little bit different each time.
We are definitely a Christian Church. We adhere to the National Evangelical Statement of Faith and you can read more about our beliefs in the ABOUT US section of the website. Jack graduated from Denver Seminary in 2009 with a Master of Divinity degree. We believe the Bible...ALL of the Bible. Jack usual.ly preaches from the NASB or the NIV Bibles. We are involved with and have roots in the Vineyard movement and we also are part of the 400 Gathering and the Aspen Family of Churches in the Denver area. We believe in John 17 unity, where the world will know that the Father sent the Son by how believers come together in unity. We love the different expressions of Christ's church and we work with and are friends with Anglican, Presbyterian, Baptist, Bethel aligned churches and many more.
The first step is to plan a visit with us. There's no pressure. We know how awkward it can be to walk into a church for the first time, so we offer a "plan your visit" option to take away some of the unknown. By planning your visit we'll know you are coming and someone can help you with any needs you have (like checking in your kids), answer questions and make you feel more comfortable.
People often know right away that they've found their church home at The River. If you feel that The River is a good fit for you and/or your family, we have welcome lunches every few weeks and you are invited in to one of these lunches. If you would like, we'll also have a pastor reach out to you to connect. From there we have six week long River Groups to introduce people to the church. Our connections pastor will also reach out to you to see if there are any places you might like to be further involved.
Most people join one of our amazing community groups when the six week group comes to an end. The community group leaders are all wonderful and they are trained and equiped to pastor and disciple their groups. You will be be seen and mentored at The River, and your life will never be the same. Best of all we show people (not just teach) how to develop a deep relationship with Jesus through worship, Bible study, learning to hear God's voice with clarity and ministering in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Yes! Kids are one of our highest priorities at The River Church. Whether your child is still in diapers or about to graduate from high school, children are a top priority. We believe that the coming generations are chosen by God to shake and change the world. While we can be hard on Millenials and Gen Z sometimes, young people have incredible challenges that the older generations could never have believed when they were young.
We believe that God is going to do a mighty work in the schools in SW Denver and an ourpouring of the Spirit is coming. We believe this mighty outpouring of God will be centered on, but definitely not limited to, Columbine High School.
We are raising up the coming generations to be powerhouses in the Kingdom of God. Kids ministry and youth group are fun and the kids love these ministries, but more importantly the children of every age are learning to draw deeper in their relationships with Jesus and to minister in the power of the Spirit. There is no junior Holy Spirit...there's only one Holy Spirit. As such the kids are equipped to worship, hear God's voice, read the BIble effectively and to minister in power as Jesus called us to.
We believe this approach is foundational for our children to live out a life of purpose following Jesus all the days of their lives. Too many young adults have been walking away from their faith in America. We lay this foundation so that the children and youth experience the awe, wonder and majesty of who Jesus is. Once a person gets a taste and they see the wonder of God, they will never walk away from the faith.
We would love to see you Sunday morning at 10 am.
